Spreading Wings event to honor Tucker

Premier aerobatic pilot and general aviation supporter Sean D. Tucker will be honored at the Spreading Wings Gala at the Wings Over the Rockies Museum in Denver Nov. 15.

Tucker will join astronauts, military pilots, and other notable figures who have been recognized at the annual event, which draws several hundred aviation and aerospace enthusiasts and supporters to recognize an individual who has had a significant impact in the aviation or aerospace industry. AOPA is among the sponsors of the 2014 gala, and attendees will have a chance to speak with AOPA Northwest Mountain Regional Manager Dave Ulane about general aviation issues in Colorado.

The Wings Over the Rockies Museum is a 2014 recipient of an AOPA Foundation Giving Back grant, which it will use to help develop its new Wingman Initiative to serve and support student pilots in Colorado. The initiative will support student pilots from a new facility to be constructed at Denver’s Centennial Airport with programs, resources, structure, and camaraderie that restore value and enjoyment to the student pilot.

Members interested in attending this event and supporting the work of the Wings Museum can learn more and register online.
