Pristine Queens. Thirty coats of paint glisten on the 1928 Waco ATO—Baby Ruth—while in the foreground a 1939 Spartan Executive 7W shows off a highly polished aluminum fuselage. Both aircraft reside at the Historic Aircraft Restoration Museum at Creve Coeur Airport near St. Louis, Missouri. Some 10,000 people a year come to visit the airplanes, which beautifully tell the story of aviation from its teen years into adulthood.

The Frederick "Homecoming" Fly-In takes place June 6, 2015, at AOPA headquarters in Maryland.
Following the success of its regional fly-ins in 2014, AOPA will host five fly-ins across the country in 2015. On May 16, the association holds its first at Salinas Municipal Airport (SNS) in California. This month, the Frederick, Maryland, Homecoming Fly-In takes place June 6 at Frederick Municipal Airport (FDK).
Featuring aircraft displays, manufacturer exhibits, aerial performances, a pancake breakfast, family lunch on site, and speakers and educators, the fly-ins take place rain or shine. Visitors are encouraged to preregister (www.aopa.org/fly-ins) and can receive valuable coupons for savings on meals and merchandise. You can make it a weekend by joining the association for get-togethers and special events on Friday night. A Barnstormers Party and a special screening of the documentary Living in the Age of Airplanes take place at the FDK Homecoming event.
Additional fly-in locations include Anoka County-Blaine Airport (ANE) in Minnesota, August 22; Colorado Springs Municipal Airport (COS) in Colorado, September 26; and Tullahoma Regional Airport (THA) in Tennessee, October 10. www.aopa.org/fly-ins
