Success Stories

My first flight lesson was in 2008. I soloed a Cessna 150 shortly after my sixteenth birthday, and one year later I got my private pilot certificate in a 150 as well. I was fortunate enough to get a scholarship from James C. Ray in Central Florida that helped pay for almost all of it. I worked for and got my instrument rating in July 2015 after turning 18, and I left to start school at Western Michigan University the day after.

One year after I arrived at WMU, I am now instructing here. I have completed flight training at WMU and have both single commercial and multiengine ratings at age 19, with 350 hours (which I passed on my checkride), and a tailwheel, complex, and high performance endorsement. I went back home to Florida in summer 2016 and got my CFI at Tailwheels Etc. in Lakeland and am now training for my CFII and instructing at WMU while contracting for ferry flights.”
