FlightSimCon gets new venue

Event set for June 10 and 11

The fifth annual FlightSimCon, a gathering for aviation and flight simulation enthusiasts, will take place June 10 through 11 at the Sheraton Hartford Hotel at Bradley International Airport in Windsor Locks, Connecticut.

FlightSimCon is designed to bring together pilots and flight sim enthusiasts to enjoy an interactive social setting. Participants will experience how online flight simulation can benefit student and certificated pilots, meet other simulation enthusiasts, and engage with exhibitors and speakers. More than 40 exhibitors will present hands-on demonstrations of hardware and software products. Dovetail Games (Flight Simulator X: Steam Edition), Laminar Research (X-Plane), and Lockheed Martin (Prepar3D) will be at the show as sponsors or exhibitors.

Each day of the conference will center around one of two themes: the flight simulator community in general, and flight simulation’s benefits toward real-world pilot training. Seminar and speaker topics include how to make a do-it-yourself home cockpit, turning aviation from a hobby to a career, and more.

The registration fee is $60 before May 15 and $70 from May 16 to June 8 for a weekend registration, or $30 before May 15 and $35 from May 16 to June 8 flight for a one-day registration. Discounted fees are available for youths ages 12 and younger who are accompanying adults, students in grades kindergarten through 12, or student pilots actively training for a private pilot certificate.
