All the modern comforts
Imagine an airliner so fast it cut the flight time from New York to Los Angeles by 27 percent while providing passengers with comfort, safety, and reliability never before experienced. Surely such performance would herald a new era, and that's just what the Boeing 247, a DC–2 predecessor, did after its launch in 1933. (With seven stops, it could reach the West Coast in a mere 20 hours.) In 2016, a restored D-model flew for the last time to Boeing Field in Seattle for display at the Museum of Flight. Question

I carry a cell phone all the time, even when flying. Can I use my cell phone in flight, or do I have to switch it to airplane mode or turn it off?
Answer
Although the FAA does not specifically prohibit cell phone use while in flight, the Federal Communications Commission does. According to 47 CFR 22.925, your cell phone must be turned off while airborne.

Did you know that student pilots who join AOPA are three times more likely to complete their flight training?
