Bendix/King announces certified AeroVue Touch
Bendix/King plans to introduce a certified version of its AeroVue Touch electronic flight information system in the third quarter of 2018, company officials said July 24. The AeroVue for experimental aircraft was introduced at Sun ‘n Fun in April, featuring a 10.1-inch display and near-4K resolution.
The display can be used as a full-screen primary flight display, or as a split screen with a primary and multifunction display. The unit features hand stability frames all around to help the pilot operate the unit in turbulence.
A vertical situational display at the bottom of the PFD provides additional situational awareness when compared to a terrain display. The unit comes with built-in Wi-Fi that allows users to upload databases within four minutes, and complete software updates in under 10 minutes.
The unit requires no mounting brackets, and installation requires just four screws.
The AeroVue Touch is available now for experimental aircraft at $5,499. The company expects to start with an STC for the Cessna 172 for the certified version, and will progress through most light singles and twins. The certified version is expected to cost $12,595.
