Think fast
As training aircraft go, the Northrop T–38 Talon has enjoyed a storied history since its introduction in 1961. The two-place twin-engine jet was the first supersonic trainer. With thousands of the aircraft produced, the Talon remains in service today, having trained more than 68,000 U.S. Air Force pilots and thousands more from other countries. It was the performing aircraft of the Air Force Thunderbirds during the 1970s—and NASA required space shuttle astronauts to maintain proficiency in the speedy T–38 because it made pilots "think fast."

Question

I recently flew in Mexico using BasicMed and was stopped by Mexican authorities. Fortunately, I had a valid third class medical at home, which my wife had to scan and email to me. Has any foreign country approved the use of BasicMed?
Answer
Currently, only the Bahamas has authorized the use of BasicMed while flying in that country. If you plan to fly internationally anywhere other than the Bahamas, be sure to carry a valid medical certificate with you. For more information, see FAA Advisory Circular AC 68-1A.
