Disruptive design
Take off vertically, hover in place, or enjoy cruise-control-enabled flight. That's what aeronautical venture Opener plans to deliver with BlackFly, its all-electric vertical-takeoff-and-landing amphibious ultralight aircraft. A single-seat personal aerial vehicle, or PAV, with proprietary motor technology, BlackFly attracted spectators at EAA AirVenture in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, in July. The aircraft, which in flight resembles a sideways-moving letter H, was "designed and built for a new world of three-dimensional transportation," says its developer.
Final Exam
Question

I just realized my flight review expired six months ago, and I have made a lot of flights as pilot in command since then. What can I do to fix that?
Answer
Unfortunately, there is no fix. Each flight made after your flight review expired could be a separate regulation violation if the FAA ever found out, and you may have to deal with that at some point. However, you should complete a flight review as soon as possible, learn from your mistake, and keep a closer eye on when the next flight review is due.

This question and answer were provided by the aviation experts in AOPA's Pilot Information Center. Did you know that student pilots who join AOPA are three times more likely to complete their flight training? Membership includes unlimited access to aviation information by phone (800-USA-AOPA, weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Eastern time) or from AOPA Online.
