Enter the Longitude
Plane spotters gearing up to log new-aircraft sightings in 2019 can keep their eyes out for a super-midsize business jet with swept wings, two engines mounted to the rear fuselage, and a distinctively swept T-tail. The Cessna Citation Longitude completed a globe-circumnavigating introductory tour in 2018 and finished the year by being awarded its provisional type certificate. Question

I own an experimental Van's Aircraft RV–6 and would like to get in on the rebate for installing Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast (ADS-B) Out. Do experimental aircraft qualify for the rebate?
Answer
Yes. However, you must install a technical standard order-compliant ADS-B unit to be eligible for the rebate. Non-TSOed units, like the ones typically marketed to experimental aircraft owners, are not eligible.

This question and answer were provided by the aviation experts in AOPA's Pilot Information Center. Did you know that student pilots who join AOPA are three times more likely to complete their flight training?
