Lightspeed focusing on growing pilot community
The Lightspeed Aviation Foundation has provided more than 1,000 headsets to missionary pilots and now is focusing on encouraging young people to consider aviation, said Allan Schrader, founder and president of Lightspeed Aviation.

Lightspeed also announced the launch of a new YouTube video series, Aviation: No Tie Downs, a video series created to share stories of the shared passions for the adventure and the people in aviation.
Ten episodes of the series have been completed and more are on the drawing boards, said Teresa De Mers, executive vice president. “We aim to release them every two or three weeks.”

Mike Collins, AOPA technical editor and director of business development, died at age 59 on February 25, 2021. He was an integral part of the AOPA Media team for nearly 30 years, and held many key editorial roles at AOPA Pilot, Flight Training, and AOPA Online. He was a gifted writer, editor, photographer, audio storyteller, and videographer, and was an instrument-rated pilot and drone pilot.
