Timeless Travel Air
In the 1920s the Travel Air Manufacturing Co. of Wichita, Kansas, launched by future aviation legends Lloyd Stearman, Walter Beech, and Clyde Cessna, led the way producing airplanes including three-place biplanes powered by a variety of radial engines. One surviving aircraft, completed on Valentine's Day 1930 and later restored in the paint scheme of a 1930s-era stunt-flying team, is this Travel Air D–4000 in the collection of the Owls Head Transportation Museum in coastal Maine. Its completion closely followed Curtiss-Wright Corp.'s acquisition of Travel Air, which encountered financial headwinds as the Great Depression began.
Final Exam
Question

My flight review is due by the end of this month. However, I recently completed a 1.4-hour checkout from a flight instructor in a Cessna Skyhawk that covered all the normal maneuvers. We also did more than an hour of ground school. Does this satisfy the flight review requirement?
Answer
Although the time and training meet the minimum flight review requirements, the checkout does not satisfy the flight review requirement unless the instructor endorsed your logbook for the satisfactory completion of a flight review.
