Plane Spotter
AOPA
Announcing the 940
Daher, the French aerospace conglomerate, has kept plane spotters busy since 1990 as it designed and released new versions of its speedy TBM-family single-engine turboprops. For those who last spotted a TBM 930 in 2016, it's almost time to get back in the game: Daher has unveiled the TBM 940, which is on track for certification and first deliveries in 2019. To make an identification, you may have to coax an owner into permitting a close-up inspection. New systems, including automated throttle and deicing, and ergonomic tweaks differentiate TBM 940s from their forerunners. (Image courtesy of Daher.)
Final Exam
Question

I just received a letter from the FAA Aircraft Registry noting my aircraft registration expired in January. How do I renew my aircraft registration?
Answer
An aircraft registration can only be renewed while it is current. After it expires, you must submit a standard registration application, FAA AC Form 8050-1, which is the same form you used when you first registered after purchase. Follow the instructions on the form to mail it and the appropriate fee to the FAA Aircraft Registry.

This question and answer were provided by the aviation experts in AOPA's Pilot Information Center. Did you know that student pilots who join AOPA are three times more likely to complete their flight training? Membership includes unlimited access to aviation information by phone (800-USA-AOPA, weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Eastern time) or from AOPA Online.
