More than 46,000 pilots have installed the AOPA app, and many are using its newest feature, Pilot Passport, to check in at airports across the country.
We’ve launched a new challenge to get you flying more in May: The person who has the most social shares from Pilot Passport during the month will win a $50 AOPA Pilot Gear gift card.
The monthly challenge runs May 1 through 31, and sharing your flights on social media is easy with the Pilot Passport’s check-in function.
Each time you check in at an airport, you have the option to share your experience to your Facebook, Twitter, and AOPA Hangar accounts. You can take a photo at the airport or add one from your gallery, rate the airport, and include a comment in your share if you want.
“This is a great way to share your love of flying with those in your social networks,” said Jiri Marousek, AOPA's chief marketing officer, “and we are working on expanding the share capability to more platforms, including Instagram.”
Since Pilot Passport launched on April 1, pilots have checked in at more than 4,500 locations ranging from airports to aviation events, and shared their flights 1,600 times.
The AOPA app is available for free on iOS and Android devices. In addition to the all-new Pilot Passport feature, the app includes the latest aviation news, advocacy issues, events, videos, podcasts, special offers, and the ability to join AOPA or renew your membership.
