For pilots who aren’t grounded by a stay-at-home or other order, share your social distancing solo flights with the rest of us as part of the Pilot Passport challenge.

A sunset flight from a few thousand feet up? Social distancing, check! Stress relief, check! Send us your photos if you are able to go flying during the coronavirus pandemic! Alyssa Cobb took this photo before Maryland's stay-at-home order went into effect.

If you’re like me, flying is one of the best stress relievers you can take part in. There’s really nothing like soaring through the air, watching the changing landscape below to take your mind off the day-to-day stresses. And, I think we all have enough stress right now!

I’m currently grounded by a stay-at-home order in Maryland, but I can live vicariously through the photos and videos of those of you who are out there having some fun in the air. So, if you do go flying—share your experience through the AOPA app’s Pilot Passport feature using the hashtags #SkyDistancing, #TakeTheSkiesSolo, and #FlyWithAOPA. Show us your best selfie, a picture of your airplane, or the view from the cockpit—we want to see it all!

It’s part of our monthly Pilot Passport feature, “April Thaw, Come out of Hibernation Challenge.”

If you are one of the top three participants in April with the most airport check-ins, you will win a noise-canceling Bluetooth stereo headset from Jeppesen.

Congratulations to our March winners, Richard Dove, Chris Verbil, and Dragan Lazic, who each won a Sporty’s Instrument Rating Course for online and app from Sporty’s Pilot Shop.
