After the Checkride: Get out and fly

AOPA Pilot Passport program encourages new experiences

Preflight March/April 2021

The AOPA Pilot Passport program on the AOPA app encourages pilots to check in at different types of airports, land at airports across your state, visit airports and aviation events across the country, and share your experience by rating the airport, uploading a photo, and posting a comment on social media (use #AOPAPilotPassport in your posts). Every time you check in to an airport you are awarded points. These points are based on whether certain criteria are met such as the types of runways found at the airport or what airspace it is located within. Every check-in you make awards you points and progress toward earning better and newer badges. New in 2021 are challenges such as “See Green,” in which you are challenged to land on grass runways; “Summer Landmarks,” in which you visit national landmarks across the country; and “$100 Burger Showdown,” in which you’ll seek out great restaurants. Winners of monthly challenges receive prizes that include headsets, AOPA pilot gear, and much more.
