Final Exam
Question

If a private pilot training for an instrument rating occupies the left seat of a Cessna 172, a commercial pilot acting as safety pilot and pilot in command occupies the right seat, and an instrument instructor providing instruction occupies a back seat, can all three pilots log PIC time?
Answer
No. According to this FAA legal interpretation, a flight instructor providing instruction is required to occupy a control seat. Join the discussion >
