AOPA’S AIR SAFETY INSTITUTE RELEASES IFR FLIGHT PLAN FILING: TOOLS AND TIPS IN THE BEYOND PROFICIENT: IFR VIDEO SERIES
The Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association Air Safety Institute (ASI) released a new video in its Beyond Proficient: IFR video series that provides a unique perspective on how to fly safely in the departure, en route, and approach profiles under instrument flight rules.
“IFR Flight Plan Filing: Tools and Tips offers practical advice on anticipating our filed IFR route clearance,” said ASI Senior Director Paul Deres. “Doing so makes things easier when copying and reading back our final assigned route clearance.”
“For example, the video provides tips for using tools that show us routes historically assigned to other aircraft between the same airports. This proactive approach to advanced route planning will enhance our awareness of what to expect in an IFR clearance while reducing how much our filed clearance may be amended,” Deres concluded.
ASI collaborated with FlightInsight to create the series’ videos that offer tips and tricks to master complex instrument flying aspects.
