AOPA'S FLIGHT TRAINING EXPERIENCE SURVEY NOW OPEN

For years, results from the AOPA Flight Training Experience Survey have shaped flight training industry standards and best practices by helping certificated flight instructors and flight schools identify trends and pinpoint areas of strength and weakness.

The 10-minute survey gives pilots of all experience levels the chance to share information about the quality of instruction they received from their CFI and/or flight school over the past year. The survey measures CFI and flight school performance based on educational quality, customer focus, community, and information sharing.

Information gleaned from the survey is also used to recognize and present awards to exemplary flight instructors and schools. Based on the results, industry experts will choose six flight schools and six CFIs from across the country to be recognized as the best in their region as well as one school and CFI who were a cut above the rest. The 2023 Flight Training Experience Awards recognized Bryan Gutraj from Dubuque, Iowa, as the Best Flight Instructor and In the Pattern in Denton, Texas, as the Best Flight School.

To be eligible to submit a survey, individuals must be at least 14 years old and have received flight instruction in the past 12 calendar months. The 2024 survey will be accepting submissions through 11:59 p.m. Eastern time on October 31.
