Avance L5 is already being used on more than 500 Dassault Falcon business jets and can now be upgraded in preparation for 5G connectivity. The company said until the Avance LX5 single box line-replaceable unit with full 5G connectivity is available, the AVANCE L5 system will be powered by the Gogo Biz 4G network; customers choosing to upgrade can expect immediate performance improvements.

Gogo Vice President of Aftermarket Sales Dave Salvador said, “Gogo 5G was designed with our customers in mind to deliver high throughput with low latency, addressing the increased demand for data-heavy services and applications. Dassault's investment in Gogo 5G provisions and STC development is a critical component in bringing this game-changing network technology to the market."

To prepare for 5G, a Gogo Avance L5 system and two belly-mounted multiband antennas will be installed on the aircraft.

The company hopes to have fully integrated Gogo 5G connectivity available for installation in mid-2024. At that time, Dassault plans to secure FAA certification of Gogo 5G and Avance LX5.

In preparation for Gogo 5G, Gogo is offering discounts up to $50,000 for those looking to upgrade or install the Avance L5 system.
