'AOPA Pilot' wins awards

AOPA Pilot received two gold awards in the annual “Eddies and Ozzies” magazine ceremony presented by Folio: The magazine for magazine management. The awards recognize magazines in a variety of categories in two tracks—editorial and design.

AOPA Pilot received two gold awards in the annual “Eddies and Ozzies” magazine ceremony presented by Folio: The magazine for magazine management. The awards recognize magazines in a variety of categories in two tracks—editorial and design. AOPA Pilot received the 2025 Eddie award (in the nonprofit and association magazine category) for a series of articles, "Star Struck" and "Flying for Barbecue," by Senior Features Editor Julie Summers Walker, along with a 2025 Eddie (in the single-article by a nonprofit or association publication category) for "Wings of the Iditarod" by Features Editor Alicia Herron.

AOPA Pilot was a finalist in several other 2025 award categories including the November 2024 issue, design for "A Very Special Day" in the August 2024 issue, design of the February 2025 issue, and photography by AOPA Director of Photography Chris Rose in "Wings of the Iditarod."

AOPA Pilot has been recognized by Folio many times over the years. The annual competition receives entries from more than 125 magazines across the country. AOPA Pilot often competes with titles such as AARP: The MagazineNational Geographic, and Nature Conservancy Magazine.
