Cirrus expanded its Cirrus Approach Flight Training curriculum September 25 with a new instrument rating program.
The course combines self-study online learning with flight lessons in a Cirrus aircraft, providing a structured approach from the knowledge test to the oral exam and checkride.
After enrolling in the course, students will need to work with a local Cirrus Training Center for flight lessons. Cirrus claims that the program can be completed in one to four months as the course can be “tailored to the student’s experience level.”
The course materials start at $950, and the price of the course does not include any aircraft- or instructor-related costs.
Cirrus has long offered a similar program for private pilot training in a Cirrus aircraft, but this marks the company’s first advanced rating offered through its Approach learning platform. Over 25,000 users have completed 33,000 courses to date, according to the company, including icing awareness and takeoff and landing digital courses.
