ATP purchases 30 Seminoles

ATP announced this week that it has agreed to purchase 30 Piper Seminoles for its career training program. The deal was announced at the annual National Business Aviation Association convention in Las Vegas.

The order is for 10 firm airplanes to be delivered next year, and options for 20 additional aircraft that would be delivered in 2013 and 2014. At retail price, the deal is worth $18 million.

ATP currently operates 88 Pipers at its nationwide training locations. Much of its career training is done in multiengine trainers, and with the new airplanes, students will have even more access to advanced avionics. That’s because each of the new Seminoles will be outfitted with Garmin G500 glass panels.

“ATP chose the Piper Seminole because of its dispatch reliability, compatibility with our existing fleet, and ATP's continuing commitment to providing high-quality multiengine flight training and experience to pilots of all certification levels,” said ATP Vice President Jim Koziarski.
