Memphis-area pilot academy to concentrate on diversity
The Organization for Black Aerospace Professionals is opening an aviation learning facility near Memphis, Tennessee, with plans to increase diversity of the airline industry by 50 pilots per year within the next five years. Court refuses to hear Santa Monica case
The U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit refused to review the deal between the FAA and the city of Santa Monica that allowed the city to immediately shorten the runway and will allow the city to close the airport at the end of 2028. The court said it had no jurisdiction over the settlement agreement, so it cannot review arguments that the FAA’s decision to agree to the settlement violated federal law. READ MORE ›
Funding closer for airports shut down by presidential TFRs
The Senate Appropriations Committee on June 7 approved a fiscal 2019 transportation spending bill, which designates $3.5 million to help airports in Florida and New Jersey deal with financial impacts caused by temporary flight restrictions. READ MORE ›

Hesitant to delegate work? Start slowly. For instance, spend a weekend away from the flight school and divide tasks among a few different employees. When you get back, analyze their performance.
