S.C. flight school hosts Small Business Administration visit
CRAFT Flight Training & Simulation of North Charleston, South Carolina, hosted the administrator of the U.S. Small Business Administration for a ground-level view of how COVID-19 has affected small businesses. SBA Administrator Jovita Carranza toured the flight school and spoke with school administrators about their experience with SBA relief funding, according to CRAFT co-owner Amanda Aldea. Caranza, her staff, and local SBA leaders observed a flight training lesson in the school's Redbird Simulator and also viewed the flight school's Diamond aircraft. "Following the tour, we discussed some of the challenges we see in our industry due to COVID, and how the SBA might help in the coming year," Aldea said.

'Barn door in a hurricane': Master class with Capt. Tammie Jo Shults
You've been in cruise for 30 minutes when there's a thump and a roar, and a pitch and a roll. For the next 17 minutes, you will use everything you ever learned about flying to get an airplane with a damaged wing and fuselage, a dead engine with its cowling peeled back like a banana, and 149 people aboard safely out of the sky.
