Three honored as ASF platinum 'Life Hat' members

Newest Platinum Life Hat Members

Lessing Stern, Jim Robins, and Michael Lazar were honored this morning as the newest Platinum members of the AOPA Air Safety Foundation's "Life Hat" aviation safety donor program. Platinum is the highest level of the Life Hat program, representing an individual contribution of at least $100,000.

Life Hat designations are part of ASF's long-term "Hat In The Ring" program recognizing those who contribute at least $25,000 toward ASF general aviation safety research and education efforts. Other levels of Life Hat include Silver for donations of at least $75,000 and Bronze for donations of at least $50,000.

The AOPA Air Safety Foundation is the world's largest organization dedicated specifically to improving general aviation safety through research and education. Since its founding in 1950, the GA accident rate has fallen some 90 percent.
