Eclipse Aviation President and CEO Vern Raburn became the latest member of the AOPA Air Safety Foundation "Life Associate" Program. Raburn presented a personal check to AOPA President Phil Boyer June 9 at the annual New Mexico Pilot Bash. The event was held this year in the new Eclipse headquarters and assembly complex at Sunport International Airport in Albuquerque. ASF Life Associates receive a lifetime AOPA membership, special recognition, tax deductions, and other benefits for their generous contributions to support ASF safety research and educational programs.
Raburn's company is building the unique Eclipse 500, a six-place personal jet slated to sell for less than some current turboprops (see " Turbine Pilot: An Inside Look at Eclipse," February Pilot).
