In the wake of last week's terrorist attack, the AOPA Communications Division has been continuously monitoring and correcting misinformation about general aviation in news reports from all over the country. Along with providing accurate information about GA, AOPA is explaining why U.S. flight schools are popular with foreign students and how the national security ban on VFR flying is suffocating many GA businesses. Since last week's attack, Communications Vice President Warren Morningstar has told the GA side of the story to reporters from USA Today, Washington Post, New York Times, and Los Angeles Times as well as all the major television networks. In addition, AOPA President Phil Boyer took time for a USA Today in-depth interview about the importance of GA airports in the National Airspace System.
