AOPA learned Thursday from congressional leaders that the House intends to vote on the bill that would save Meigs Field ( H.R.3479, the National Aviation Capacity Expansion Act). In an important step toward passage, the Bush administration has pledged its support. In the Senate, Majority Leader Tom Daschle (D-S.D.) has pledged to use all of his options and those of the Senate to pass the legislation this year. "We are optimistic about this bill being considered by Congress and sent to the President," said AOPA President Phil Boyer.
