The National Park Service has released a revised Denali Backcountry Management Plan. AOPA and Alaska pilots didn't like the first version because the Park Service's preferred alternative banned GA aircraft from landing anywhere in the 1.5 million-acre area that makes up the Old Park. AOPA staff is now wading through the revision, checking to ensure that aviation access to the park will be preserved. Pilots can read the draft environmental impact statement themselves at the Web site (click on " Revised Draft Backcountry Management Plan 2005"). Comments are due before June 30.
