Washington port looks at upgrading airport

AOPA is encouraging the Port of Camas-Washougal in Washington State to move forward with planned improvements at Grove Field. The port is thinking about accepting FAA grants for a host of development and safety enhancements, including new hangars and relocating and extending the runway. AOPA has learned that the Washington Aviation Division is supportive of the port's efforts. "We would like to compliment you for your foresight and recognizing that this airport is part of a regional, statewide, and national transportation system," said Bill Dunn, AOPA vice president of airports, in a letter to the port. "During the process it will be vital that all stakeholders have their voices heard - whether they agree with the port or not - and that the input received from all the stakeholders is factored into the final development plan for Grove Field Airport."
