State bill would help fund airports

AOPA has sent word to Connecticut Gov. Jody Rell expressing support for a state bill that would help airports. A component of Senate Bill 1048 would authorize the issuance of up to $2 million in special tax obligation bonds for the development and improvement of general aviation airport facilities, including grants-in-aid to municipal airports (excluding Bradley International Airport). "We applaud your efforts on behalf of general aviation and offer our assistance to you and your administration on behalf of Connecticut's general aviation community," said AOPA President Phil Boyer in a letter.
