Proposal denied to build tower near Miller Air Park

Pilots based at Miller Air Park in Mooresville, North Carolina, can continue to fly at the airport without the hazard of a radio tower located one mile away. Rowan County commissioners turned down the application of Davidson Broadcasting to place a radio tower near the field. AOPA Mid-Atlantic Regional Representative Chris Hudson and local pilots testified before the commission that the tower would be a hazard to pilots operating at that airport. The commissioners cited the pilots' testimony about safety as one of the deciding factors.
