AOPA Expo brings firsts to Tampa

AOPA Expo 2005

First time AOPA Expo will be in Tampa. First time a Secretary of Transportation will address Expo. And quite possibly, the first time that Transportation Secretary Norm Mineta and aviation humorist Rod Machado will appear in the same venue on the same day. Their styles may be different, but both are a "must see." Mineta opens the first Expo general session on Thursday morning, November 4. Then at noon during the Expo opening luncheon, you'll have a chance to laugh and learn as Rod Machado gives us his take on some of the strangest, wildest, and craziest pilot foibles that have occurred this side of the Anchorage localizer.

Getting double-crossed by crosswinds? When the tower told you to extend your downwind leg, did you actually try to stick your leg out the door? Are you still using the "catch and release" method of heading hold? Can't even keep the ammeter needle centered? If so, then you're not alone. But Rod will help you become a better pilot, and you'll enjoy every minute of it.

If you've never been to Expo before, why not make another first? And if you have, you know all about the fantastic seminars, the exciting exhibits, and the great fun that awaits pilots on the Tampa Bay waterfront.
