An FAA proposal to improve the efficiency and safety of aircraft operations in the New York; Newark, New Jersey; and Philadelphia metropolitan areas would involve redesigning ATC procedures in a 31,000-square-mile swath of airspace that touches five states. AOPA is working to ensure that you will continue to have access to the airspace and GA airports. The FAA needs member input on how a redesign would affect your flying and has extended its comment deadline to July 1. Comments can be filed via e-mail or sent to Steve Kelley, FAA-Airspace Redesign, c/o Michael Merrill, 12005 Sunrise Valley Road, Reston, VA 20191. You also can provide feedback on the issue to AOPA via e-mail or by calling the Pilot Information Center at 800/USA-AOPA.
