AOPA develops subject report on joint replacement

Joint x-ray

Dozens of members have contacted AOPA's medical specialists in response to the December 1 article " New hardware and your FAA medical certificate" for information on how to get their medical certificates back after a joint replacement.

To better serve members, AOPA's specialists created the Bone and Joints-Joint Replacement subject report, which covers hip, knee, shoulder, ankle, and knuckle replacements. The report details exactly what medical records and reports need to be sent to the FAA and how to send them.

Pilots also can talk to one of AOPA's medical specialists weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Eastern by calling 800/USA-AOPA.
