Calling all pilots--to AOPA Expo

You may have seen information about AOPA Expo, the annual three-day gathering of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association, in your mailbox, in AOPA's ePilot newsletter, or in this magazine. Perhaps you've wondered whether you should go. Maybe you're still a student pilot. Maybe you think you should wait until next year.

There's no need to wait. AOPA Expo 2006 will be held November 9 to 11 in Palm Springs, California. (Expo's location changes from year to year and coast to coast to make the event convenient to more members.) It is for all general aviation enthusiasts--no matter what your experience level.

The Palm Springs Convention Center is your starting point for more than 75 informative seminars and free general sessions packed with up-to-the-minute developments in general aviation. You can hear AOPA Flight Training columnist Rod Machado, or hone your weather flying skills with AOPA Pilot Editor-at-Large Thomas A. Horne. John and Martha King of King Schools will discuss risk management, and the staff of the AOPA Air Safety Foundation will present numerous proficiency and safety seminars.

At any point in the day, take a break from the action to wander through the exhibit hall. If you're thinking about buying a new headset, a handheld GPS, a portable transceiver, this where you can try one on or try it out--compare the features of multiple models and make your best purchasing decision. Then take the hands-on fun to the next level by looking over the 80 aircraft on display, just outside the convention center, where you'll find manufacturer representatives available to answer all of your questions.

With so much waiting for you, there's no need to postpone the fun. Visit the Expo page on AOPA Online for complete details, including registration, fly-in or drive-in directions, seminar descriptions, a list of exhibitors, and other need-to-know information. We'll see you in Palm Springs!
