On June 1, the eve of AOPA's seventeenth annual Fly-In and Open House, the association hit an all-time membership record: 412,002. That represents nearly 70 percent of all pilot certificate holders.

"This is one of the most exciting yet challenging times for general aviation," said AOPA President Phil Boyer. "We're seeing tremendous technological advancement, and we're battling threats like never before. The combined force of 412,002 members cannot be underestimated and cannot be ignored."

As the world's largest GA association, AOPA is giving all of its members the opportunity to help boost the pilot population through AOPA Project Pilot and keep flying affordable through its FAA Funding Debate initiative.
