Boyer requests help from Caltrans on Montgomery Field

The California Department of Transportation's Division of Aeronautics is a model for other states on how to enforce aeronautics laws and maintain a robust general aviation transportation system. That's why AOPA President Phil Boyer wrote Will Kempton, director of Caltrans, to request their continued help in preventing the Sunroad Centrum development near Montgomery Field in San Diego from becoming a hazard to pilots. "I know that we can count on the department of transportation to see this through," Boyer wrote, "and ensure that any development in the state meets the requirements of the law." Caltrans is serving as a respondent in a suit filed by the San Diego city attorney against the developer, and AOPA is named as a real party of interest.
