When pilot Tony Ciaravino answered AOPA's call to become a Project Pilot mentor, he gained more than just a student pilot. He and future pilot Jake Pereira became friends. Throughout his flight training experience, Pereira was "very excited about learning to fly," said Ciaravino, who introduced Pereira to his local flying club in Monmouth County, N.J. Now, Pereira is working hard and studying with aspirations of partnering with Ciaravino to purchase a Cessna 172 once he earns his private pilot certificate. Become a mentor through AOPA Project Pilot to share your love of flying with future pilots. It's easy, fun, and rewarding.
