Texas governor signs pro-airport bill

Texas Gov. Rick Perry has signed legislation into law that will help improve the state's air transportation system. House Bill 3440 will help city economic development corporations to expand the use of funds available to them for hangars, airport maintenance and repair facilities, air cargo facilities, and related infrastructure located on or adjacent to airport facilities. The bill clarifies and broadens the definition of transportation facilities to include a variety of structures necessary to airports. AOPA President Phil Boyer along with members had urged the governor to sign the bill.
