Council advises Arizona gov. on protecting future of GA

Encroachment, land use, funding. All are issues that are important to general aviation airports now, and particularly in the future. Arizona officials are thinking ahead to protect their airports. Members of the Governor's Advisory Council on Aviation met with Gov. Janet Napolitano June 25 to recommend aviation be included as a component of the governor's growth initiative; legislation be introduced to prevent encroachment; fund and implement capacity and related projects to allow the state's aviation system to grow; dedicate funding to maintain airports; and manage funding of the state aviation system more efficiently.
