Don't build condos near Bridgeport airport, AOPA says

What's the perfect location for more than 600 condos? It's certainly not off the end of Runway 29 at Igor I. Sikorsky Memorial Airport in Bridgeport, Conn. That's why AOPA has written to Stratford's planning and zoning administrator opposing a proposal that would change zoning near the airport and allow 634 condos to be built less than one-half mile from the airport's runway. While the airport is owned and operated by Bridgeport, the development plans at nearby Stratford would encroach on airport land, cause noise complaints, and hurt airport-community relations.
