FAA to produce island charts

FAA to produce island charts

By AOPA ePublishing staff

For pilots who want government chart information for flights to the Caribbean, Pacific, and Hawaii, you'll now be able to get the charts from the FAA.

AOPA has worked with the Department of Defense and FAA for three years to ensure that these charts remained available to pilots after the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) stopped publishing them with the Oct. 25 airspace cycle.

While the NGA low en route chart for the Caribbean expired Oct. 25, the same chart is available from the FAA. The Caribbean Supplement and instrument approach procedures published by the NGA are good through Dec. 20. The FAA is currently working to make them available after that date.

AOPA has compiled a list of which charts the FAA will continue to publish and which will no longer be available.
