TFRs over New York for annual U.N. General Assembly
Pilots flying in the New York City area take note: Multiple temporary flight restrictions (TFRs) will be in effect during the next three weeks for the U.N. General Assembly's sixty-second session. From Sept. 18 through Oct. 5, a 2-nautical-mile-radius TFR will be centered on the JFK VOR/DME 320-degree radial at 11.4 miles, extending up to 7,000 feet msl. It will be in effect daily from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. A TFR encompassing the lateral boundaries of the New York Class B airspace and extending from the surface up to Flight Level 180 will be in effect from Monday, Sept. 24, through Wednesday, Sept. 26, for President Bush's visit.
