For the first time, the AOPA Air Safety Foundation has produced an interactive electronic edition of its annual Safety and Philanthropy Report, recognizing the past year’s successes and the donors who made them possible.
Among the foundation’s top achievements in 2007 were a 39-percent increase in the use of online safety courses and an 11-percent increase in attendance at live safety seminars. In addition to providing details about these accomplishments and general aviation safety trends, the online report profiles some of the year’s top philanthropists and their efforts to improve general aviation safety.
“I tell pilots that aviation is as safe as they want to make it,” said Bruce Landsberg, Executive Director of the AOPA Air Safety Foundation. “When pilots make a donation or take advantage of our many free educational programs, they’re showing their commitment to improving safety for themselves and all of us.”
