Starting July 31, pilots who fly aircraft equipped with IFR-certified GPS units will be able to navigate San Francisco and Sacramento, Calif., airspace more easily by using area navigation routes (T-routes). The FAA published its final rule this week to implement four routes: T-257, T-259, T-261, and T-263. AOPA has been a strong proponent of T-routes since 2000 because they improve air navigation efficiency and safety. See AOPA Online for graphical depictions of the routes.
