TransPac appoints new CEO

In a Nov. 6 news conference at AOPA Expo, TransPac Aviation Academy (formerly known as Pan Am Aviation Academy), announced the appointment of Stephen Goddard as its new CEO and president.

Prior to joining TransPac, Goddard was vice president and company officer for 3D Systems Inc., in South Carolina. He has a Bachelor of Science degree from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, with a major in management and a minor in physics. He also holds a Masters in Business Administration from the London School of Business.

Goddard, an ATP, spent 12 years in the U.S. Coast Guard and U.S. Navy. He has more than 3,000 fixed and rotary wing flight hours, and served as a pilot instructor. After leaving the military and earning his MBA, Goddard joined the management consulting firm McKinsey & Company, where he worked with corporate clients along the Pacific Rim.

“This is an incredible opportunity,” Goddard said of his new job. “We are in growth mode, building on the academy’s strong foundation. In the coming months we will be integrating new technologies and restructuring our instructional programs to further develop the education and training we are able to offer our students that come from across the U.S. and overseas.”

TransPac Aviation Academy develops and provides education and training to those with no prior aviation experience, using classroom, small airplane, and simulator training to help students earn a Commercial pilot certificate. The school is based at the Phoenix Deer Valley Municipal Aiport, about 20 miles north of downtown Phoenix. It serves approximately 450 U.S. and international students.
