An AOPA-backed bill (S.B.1118) that would strengthen California’s existing land-use laws will be considered by the Assembly Committee on Local Government on June 18. The bill would require all counties with at least one public-use airport to have an airport land-use commission. Earlier this week, AOPA contacted California members whose representatives are on the committee, urging them to ask their legislators to support the bill. The California senate unanimously passed the bill on May 1.
