AOPA President Craig Fuller inspects a Remos GX light sport aircraft at Sun ’n Fun.
AOPA President Craig Fuller met with aviation industry leaders during his visit to the Sun ’n Fun Fly-In in Lakeland, Fla., on April 22.
After a meeting with Remos Aircraft staff and management, Fuller slipped away from AOPA’s Big Yellow Tent and went to Sun ’n Fun’s Light Sport Mall. There, he tried on a Remos GX light sport aircraft for size. Based on the Remos G-3, the German-designed GX features a new fuselage design, new carbon fiber wings, and extended luggage space, among other changes. The GX also is certified for night VFR flight.
Later in the day, Fuller went to the Redbird Flight Simulations exhibit and inspected the Redbird FMX flight-training device. He also took a demonstration “flight” in Redbird’s Xwind Crosswind Trainer.
Fuller also met with representatives of Aeroshell, Aircraft Spruce and Specialty, American Flyers, Avidyne, Gulf Coast Avionics, and Socata, among other aviation companies.
