Mike Kraft is the new senior vice president and general manager of Lycoming Engines, replacing Ian Walsh who was promoted to chief innovation officer at Textron Systems. The new position places him in charge of all Lycoming operations. Lycoming is owned by Textron.
Kraft was Lycoming’s vice president of research, development, and engineering and as such, led a team that accelerated product development. He also led the company’s Air Safety Investigation unit.
Kraft joined Lycoming in 2007 following engineering and general management positions at Andritz (industrial equipment), GE Power Systems, and GE Aircraft Engines. He holds bachelor and master degrees in aeronautics and astronautics from MIT.
